Temporary suspension of education at Doctoral Schools
In a situation where your health prevents you from studying and continuing work on your doctoral thesis, you can apply for a temporary suspension of education – this is equivalent to a medical leave from previous stages of study.
A PhD student determines the required duration of the suspension, which is usually a minimum of one semester. During the suspension, the deadlines specified in the Individual Research Plan (IPB) do not apply.
The total period of suspension of education cannot exceed two years.
A PhD student applies for a temporary suspension of education to the Director of the Doctoral School.
Important! You must submit a statement of resumption of suspended education within one month of the end of the suspension period. If you fail to meet this deadline, the Doctoral School will consider it a resignation from education.
